RIGID RYEGRASS
RIGID RYEGRASS – Lolium rigidum
Poaceae
Rigid Ryegrass, which originates in the Mediterranean, is widespread in Australia and in some areas of southern Europe and northern Africa.
It is an annual plant with a very short cycle; it is sown in autumn-spring and is very persistent because of its great self-reseeding ability. It grows in all soil types and in favourable conditions, even during the winter.
It produces large quantities of forage and is mainly used for pasture.
