Poa pratensis is an annual rhizomous plant, bright green in colour, originating in Eurasia.
It grows mainly in spring and in autumn. It tolerates low temperatures but it is sensitive to hot and dry climates. It must be sown in springtime; initial development is slow. It forms a dense, uniform, good-quality lawn only from the second year.
Component of mixtures for permanent meadows, preferably irrigated.
It endures trampling well.
