TIMOTHY – Phleum pratense
Poaceae
Perennial caespitose grass, with short fibrous rhizomes, about 30/100cm, it can form meadows and pastures.
It prefers a warm temperate climate, however, it does not tolerate prolonged summer heat very well. It grows in all soil types, especially in organic, peat, fertile and deep types.
It is sown in springtime, combined with poaceae that share similar characteristics and leguminosae such as red, white and alsike clovers.
