BLACK MEDICK
BLACK MEDICK – Medicago lupulina
Leguminosae
This is a biennial legume with a taproot system that grows very deep. It adapts well to all relatively fertile soil types in normal conditions of humidity. It is not very productive if planted on its own, therefore it is only grown for seed production.
Black Medick is suitable for grazing. It is fairly resistant to trampling and it is able to provide an early grazing period because it regenerates quickly in spring.
It then propagates through spontaneous dissemination. 16-17% protein.
