WHITTET KIKUYU GRASS
WHITTET KIKUYU GRASS
Turf Seeds – Macrotherms
Pennisetum Clandestinum:
This species is native to tropical Africa and it is characterised by an excellent resistance to heat and disease. It endures soil salinity and irrigation fairly well.
The distinctive trait of Kikuyu grass is that it has a shorter dormancy period compared to other macrotherms, in coastal areas with mild winters. It can therefore maintain its green colour even during cold months. It does not require the typical autumnal overseeding that macrothermal fields receive.
