PASPALUM
PASPALUM
Turf Seeds – Macrotherms
This grass is suitable for the warm season with its extensive root system. It controls soil erosion very well and tolerates drought. Paspalum is moderately aggressive and forms a very rustic turf. Thus it is sometimes regarded as a weed if found in fine-leaf turf. Paspalum tolerates shade very well and it shows the best results if it receives adequate rain throughout the season. It is very suitable for poor soil and it should be cut between a height of 3.5 and 6.5cm.
Quantity of seeds: 15/20gr per m2.
Varieties
PASPALUM NOTATUM
This is a perennial species from hot and humid regions. Its rough texture forms rhizomes and stolons. It is very resistant to drought and can survive quite well in shaded areas with heavy foot traffic.
The species is not suitable for soil with high salinity nor is it particularly resistant to low temperatures.
SEEDING DOSES: 15-20gr/m2.
SEASHORE PASPALUM
Paspalum Vaginatum is one of the best macrothermal species to tolerate high salinity in water.
It is characterised by a rapid settlement rate and good colour retention during the winter season. It tolerates a high level of foot traffic and can recover well.
SEEDING DOSES: 15-20gr/m2.
