It is a cereal for spring-summer herbal gardens that prefers soil types that are sandy, pebbly, calcareous, siliceous and therefore highly resistant to cold, damp climates.

It may be sown in its pure form for wax production in April, but it is often combined in crop rotations or used to sustain other herb species.

Notable Characteristics:

Precociousness It may be harvested in late March/early April, leaving the soil free for other springtime planting activities.
Simplicity It does not require any particular cultivation techniques
Excellent Productivity It is very good at growing tillers and it is over two metres tall.
High Quality For both green consumption and silage.
