OAT
OAT – Avena sativa
Cereals
It is one of the most common cereals used for producing forage and for creating autumn and spring herbal gardens. It can be combined with vetch, field peas and mixed spring herbs.
It produces a very palatable forage for livestock and is digestible because of its low lignin content. Yield and UFL are higher than any other cereal. It has no special requirements as far as soil is concerned but it tends to develop a bit later than rye.
